Well, this is a little clique for these characters called Marsh Dogs!
And what you saw is in fact a marsh dog. These dogs are based off of marshmallows,
they either look close to a marshmallow,
look close to a dog,
or human-like?
Anyways, there are many types of marshmallows, so there will be many dogs as well.
